Why do I need a designer?

Do I need a designer for my project?

Of course, as a designer, my answer is “yes!” But let me explain why.  

An independent design firm, like Casa Verde, works for you, not your contractor.  We can be your link to the contractor and other suppliers.  Our only job is to help you realize your own vision of how you would like your home or office to look and function.

A designer can help you to define the project and formulate a budget that works for you.  While a designer is especially useful if you are trying to come up with ideas, a designer can also help you to fine tune your own ideas.  At Casa Verde we use architectural software to help visualize how a space will look.  This software also allows us to offer multiple design solutions to a project. Our process with our clients is collaborative.

A designer can provide the drawings and documentation needed to get a permit for your project.  In most places a permit is required for any project that involves changes to electrical function or plumbing fixtures, no matter how small.  A designer can also provide the documents that help you

A designer can help you identify and meet with appropriate contractors and evaluate the bids that you receive from them. You will also have a clearer sense of the materials available for your project and whether or not they will fit in your budget.
